The finish we achieve is always dependent on the care taken with the laundering of the batch.
Avoid letting clothes over-dry. Clothes more difficult to iron when they are over-dried. Try to remove from dryer as soon as they are just dry.
Avoid over-filling the dryer. The dryer should be half full to allow the air to circulate.
Use the high and low temperature control, high for heavy garments and low for shirts etc. If possible, fold the clothes as they are removed from the dryer.
Avoid over-loading the washing machine, clothes need
room to agitate. Remove clothes from washing machine as
soon as the cycle completes or put on ‘rinse hold’
until you return.
Hang shirts on hangers straight from washing
machine. We will accept them on hangers at our shops
and on our vans.
Uses for used toothbrushes!
Soiled Shirt Collars: Apply hair shampoo with a toothbrush to collars and cuffs before you put shirts in the washing machine. Shampoo is designed to remove body oils!
Spaghetti Stains: Wet fabric and dust
on some dishwasher powder. Scrub gently with a
toothbrush. Rinse and launder as normal.
Sundry Tips
Baseball Caps: Place in the top rack of the dishwasher!
Ink Stains: Our top tip is alcohol.
Rub some vodka (my tipple, always in stock!) or similar
on the stain – it disappears! THIS MUST BE DONE BEFORE
WASHING.
Fading: Turn dark clothes inside
out and wash in the coolest temperature possible, dry
on lowest heat. Use a washing powder for dark colours.
It does work; we use it for all dark washes.
Deodorant Stains: Apply white
vinegar and leave for 30 minutes. Launder shirts as
normal. Alternatively, apply liquid detergent, leave
for 10 minutes and wash as normal.
Sour Smelling Towels: Pour a 1/2
cup of white vinegar or 1/4 cup of Febreze™ into the
washer with the towels. We also use this method for all
our football and rugby kits!
Permanent Marker Stains: Dab
some sun screen over the stain and rub off with a paper
towel. Repeat until stain is gone.
Zips: Ensure smooth slipping by
rubbing a bar of soap over the teeth.
Linen Storage Area: Spray some
of your least favourite perfume on cotton wool balls,
when they are dry, place in corners.
